The prior has preached and given conferences on numerous occasions both in Italy and abroad. In mid-June br. Enzo preached to the assembly of Carmelite sisters of France on Authority and service of individuals and of the community. At the end of August he spoke in Chieti on the topic of Ecumenical dialogue to young people who were preparing for the Loreto meeting with the pope and participated in the 58th week of C.A.L. in Spoleto with a talk on the theme of Celebrating between what was and what is yet to be: Christians as witnesses of the eternal in the human city. At the beginning of September he traveled to Sibiu (Romania), where he took part in the Third European ecumenical assembly with a conference (The Light of Christ shines in our hearts: the life of the spirit in us), while at the end of the same month he spoke at the conference for the 140th anniversary of Catholic Action at Castel San Pietro Terme (BO) on the topic of The religious choice of Catholic Action and Italian Catholicism. In mid-October he participated at the Interreligious meeting for peace organized by the Sant’Egidio community in Naples with two talks (Religions and reason and The Word of God in the life of Christians) and at the end of the month gave a conference (The Church finds its mission in service of the Word of God) and two meetings of Lectio divina and led a processional liturgy at the meeting of 7500 catechists and 40 bishops of France in Lourdes. In November he addressed the Catholic and Protestant theological faculties of the University of Strasbourg on Spirituality and church unity. In this period he was also invited by bishops to preach in the dioceses of Chieti, Cuneo, Nola, Pescara, Porto Santa Rufina, and Vicenza. He has also taken part in conferences and round tables of a cultural character: at the 65th Course of Inter-Christian studies organized by Pro Civitate Christiana of Assisi; at the Festival of Philosophers in Modena; at Torino Spiritualità; of the Study group on contemporary culture at the University of Italian Switzerland in Lugano; at the round table organized by the Committee for equal opportunities of Turin on the topic of Dialogue about ethics; while in Otranto he held a master class on the theme of the stranger on the occasion of receiving the Grinzane-Terra d’Otranto Prize, section A commitment for solidarity.
